PURIPANDA SANTHA KUMARI MEMORIAL
Panchakarma is a distinctive treatment modality in Ayurveda, encompassing both systemic and local approaches, aimed at bio-purification by expelling endotoxins from the body. This process is carefully tailored to the individual's age and specific condition, helping to maintain the equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala.
The term "Panchakarma" combines two words: "Pancha," meaning five, and "Karma," meaning therapies. It involves five primary therapies, namely Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (purgation), Basti (enema), Nasya (nasal administration), and Raktamokshana (bloodletting).
In addition to these main therapies, Panchakarma includes preparatory procedures like Snehana (oleation) and Swedana (fomentation) to soften and mobilize toxins. Post-treatment, specific dietary and lifestyle guidelines are provided to ensure the body remains in a balanced state. This holistic approach not only detoxifies but also rejuvenates the body, boosts immunity, and enhances overall well-being. Panchakarma is known for its profound impact on both physical and mental health, making it a cornerstone of Ayurvedic practice.
